Manufacturer's product description

The Lampalert Multi-Purpose Alarm is a simple system which utilises your own table lamp, standard lamp etc, as an indicator. Unobtrusive but effective. The choice of indicator is yours. No more ugly boxes with lamps on

The Door Bell Transmitter is powered by a PP3 battery and can be used with a simple bell push (supplied) or wired into an existing door bell. The Telephone Transmitter is powered by a PP3 battery and is plugged direct into the BT line using a doubler (supplied). The Baby Alarm Transmitter is powered by a mains adaptor and has a built in microphone with sensitivity control.
The Lampalert Receiver can be plugged into any 3 pin socket in the house. Your own standard lamp, table lamp or bedside lamp is then plugged into the 3 pin socket of the Lampalert Receiver.
There are three different flash patterns to denote which sound source has triggered the system, together with an optional pillow vibrator for the baby alarm.
There is a night/day switch on the Lampalert Receiver in order that the lamp can be used in the normal way in the evening.
The Lampalert Receiver can conveniently moved around the house to different sockets - ideal for monitoring the baby downstairs during the evening, then unplug and take to bed for night time or alternatively several Receivers can be plugged in around the house.

This website provides information on UK suppliers. If you are from outside the UK, there are other organisations around the world that might be able to help you, depending on where you live.

DLF uses unique algorithms to rate products based on the quality of the information we have and also the standards of the various suppliers. The ratings are NOT based on the quality of the actual product itself and no testing of the products have taken place. The rating that appears here takes into account criteria such as suppliers' membership of a trade association with a code of practice and the comprehensiveness of the information supplied to us on each product e.g. image, price or description.
We record details of suppliers membership of Trade associations with a code of practice. Our star ratings give greater weighting to Trade Associations with codes of practice which are approved by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) or governed by an audit scheme. For more information read 'Our values' at the top of this page.

The British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA) is the UK's oldest and largest healthcare association (founded in 1917). Its membership consists of some 350 companies from across non-pharmaceutical sectors of the healthcare industry. The BHTA have applied to the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) to have this code of practice agreed as an OFT approved code.

The Telecare Services Association (TSA) is the representative body for the telecare industry in the United Kingdom. The TSA aims to promote and support the telecare industry and highlight the benefits of telecare for service users, their friends, family and carers.
The TSA has developed a Code of Practice for its members which indicate that the service provider has undergone robust independent inspection, against a range of criteria accepted as the industry standard. The code of practice is governed by an audit scheme which meets the requirements of the United Kingdom accreditation service (UKAS).

The Lift and Escalator Industry Association (LEIA) is the trade association and advisory body for the lift and escalator industry. Its members have signed up to a code of practice which includes measures intended to ease consumer concerns and remove undesirable trade practices.

This indicates that the supplier has signed up to the International Organisation of Standards (ISO) 9000 series of standards.

The ISO 9000 series of standards define a Quality System which certifies that formalised business processes are being applied. The standards provide a number of requirements which an organisation needs to fulfill if it is to achieve customer satisfaction through consistent products and services which meet customer expectations.

Our Supplier Standards rating focuses on the suppliers and manufacturers of each product. It takes into account criteria such as suppliers' membership of a trade association with a code of practice.
